Qualifications
- Candidates must have a Ph.D., M.D., or M.D./Ph.D. in biochemistry, pharmacology or molecular biology
- Postdoctoral experience
- Proven track record of scientific success as evidenced by strong publication record
- At least 4 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry
- Expertise in nuclear hormone drug discovery
- In depth understanding of nuclear hormone biology and biochemistry
- Familiarity with inflammation or metabolic diseases
- Ability to solve complex problems
- Ability to work in a self directed manner
- Outstanding communication skills
Responsibilities
This individual will:
- Validate and characterize the pharmacology of nuclear hormone drug targets
- Design and implement cell based and molecular assays for supporting small molecule lead validation and optimization
- Help validate pharmacology of lead compounds
- Help coordinate and prioritize activities to meet discovery goals
- Build strong relationships with leading academic scientists
- Direct and mentor junior staff, to optimize their productivity and career development
